Shubh: Punjabi Music's Young Global Star

Shubhneet Singh, known to the world as Shubh, went from uploading songs in Brampton, Canada, to headlining arena tours in just a few years. Born on 10 August 1997 in Nangal, Punjab, he has become one of the defining voices of the new generation of Punjabi music — a sound built on low-key vocals, trap beats, and melodies that travel far beyond Punjab.
Early Life
Shubh was born in Nangal, a town in Punjab, and later moved to Brampton, Ontario, in Canada, where his musical career began. He started releasing music in 2021, at a time when Punjabi music was already going global through streaming and social media. Rather than coming up through the traditional industry, he built his audience directly online.
Breakthrough
His breakthrough came with his debut single "We Rollin" in 2021, followed by tracks like "Elevated" and "Offshore". In 2022, he released "No Love", "Baller", and "Her". "Baller", produced with Ikky, became his most-streamed track and charted on the Canadian Hot 100. His calm, understated delivery — closer to a murmur than a shout — became his signature, setting him apart from the high-energy style Punjabi music was known for.
Still Rollin
In 2023, Shubh released his debut album, Still Rollin. The album charted on the Canadian Albums Chart and the New Zealand Albums Chart, and its song "Cheques" peaked at number 3 on the Billboard India Songs chart. The project confirmed that his sound worked at album length, not just as a run of singles.
What Came Next
In January 2025, Shubh released Sicario, a 10-track project that debuted at number 24 on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart, featuring tracks like "Buckle Up", "Reckless", "Aura", and "Fell For You". He followed it with the single "Supreme" in April 2025, and announced his first headline arena run, The Supreme Tour, in collaboration with Live Nation — a four-city North American run with further arena dates planned in Dubai and the United Kingdom.
Signature Sound
Shubh's music blends Punjabi lyrics with hip-hop, trap, and R&B production. His themes are ambition, independence, lifestyle, and personal success, delivered in a relaxed, controlled style that lets the production breathe. He is proof of how far an independent artist can travel when the songs connect directly with listeners.
