Sachin-Jigar: The Composer Duo's Rise

Sachin-Jigar: The Composer Duo's Rise

Sachin Sanghvi and Jigar Saraiya — Sachin-Jigar — spent years as assistants before anyone knew their names. Today, they are among the most prolific composer duos in Hindi cinema, known for a blend of folk-inflected melody, modern production, and soundtracks that keep topping the charts.

Starting as Assistants

Both originally from Gujarat and based in Mumbai, Sachin and Jigar spent years honing their craft as assistants to composers including Rajesh Roshan and Pritam. They programmed and arranged music for stalwarts of Indian music including A. R. Rahman, Amit Trivedi, and Anu Malik. Jigar met Sachin through Trivedi while serving as an assistant to Pritam, who suggested the two work together as a duo.

Becoming Sachin-Jigar

In 2009, they began working together as Sachin-Jigar, composing a song for the film Life Partner as guest composers. Pritam then recommended them for another film, F.A.L.T.U, directed by Remo D'Souza. In 2011, they composed their first full music album independently for F.A.L.T.U, and the duo was officially on its way — two former assistants stepping into the spotlight as composers in their own right.

The Hit Run

The years that followed brought a string of successful films: OMG – Oh My God!, Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya (2012), ABCD: Any Body Can Dance (2013), Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014), Badlapur (2015), ABCD 2 (2015), Stree (2018), Gold (2018), Angrezi Medium (2019), Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui (2021), Bhediya (2022), and Zara Hatke Zara Bachke (2023). Their sound moves easily between romantic ballads, vibrant dance numbers, and immersive, often experimental soundscapes.

Building Beyond Films

In 2018, the duo created White Noise Studios, a company that aims to launch new talent and offer them opportunities in the music industry. It is a natural extension of their own story — two musicians who came up through the assistant ranks and want to open doors for the next generation.

Still Going

The duo's prolific output has extended deep into the 2020s, with scores for films including Maalik (2025) and the action drama King (2026). They have also contributed music to theatre, television, and Coke Studio India. From arranging for other composers to headlining soundtracks of their own, Sachin-Jigar's rise is a case study in patience, craft, and creative chemistry — and in how a strong partnership can keep producing hit after hit across changing tastes.
