Bollywood Music Project Turns 10: Himesh, Shilpa Rao, Hariharan Headline Mumbai Festival

Asia's largest Bollywood music festival is turning ten. The Bollywood Music Project celebrates its 10th anniversary edition on October 24, 2026, at Jio Gardens in Mumbai — with a lineup that spans generations, genres, and decades of Hindi music.

The headliners

Himesh Reshammiya headlines the Main Stage with a career-spanning performance of his chart-topping tracks. Directly before the finale, playback singer Shilpa Rao takes the twilight slot. Veteran singer Hariharan performs an intergenerational set with his son Akshay Hariharan, blending classical compositions with contemporary arrangements.

More than 20 artists, two stages

The single-day festival features over 20 artists across 10 curated acts on multiple stages, blending Bollywood with folk, Sufi, indie, pop, and Punjabi music. The Main Stage also features Euphoria Band with Vaishali Samant, Shalmali Kholgade and Abhay Jodhpurkar, while Anu Malik presents a special collaborative set with Babul Supriyo, Shahid Mallya, Anmol Malik and Ada Malik.

Roop Kumar Rathod and Sunali Rathod perform Sufi and romantic songs in the afternoon, Neeraj Shridhar brings his pop hits, and playback singer Anirudh Susuwaram opens the Main Stage.

A decade of live Bollywood

Last year's edition drew over 20,000 attendees. Organiser Deepak Choudhary calls the 10th anniversary a love letter to the fans, with dialled-up scale, production, and sonic diversity. Ten years ago, the festival set out to build a stage where legendary maestros, chart-topping pop icons, and indie visionaries could coexist — and it has grown into a cultural phenomenon.

Why live music matters for independent artists

Festivals like BMP are where careers are made. For independent artists, a live stage is the fastest way to convert casual listeners into lifelong fans — and the most honest test of whether a song works. Streaming numbers can be gamed. A crowd of 20,000 cannot.

If you are building a live set alongside your releases, you are building something no algorithm can take away.
