Apple Music for Artists: Setup and Features Guide

Apple Music for Artists is Apple's free dashboard for musicians. It shows how your music performs on Apple Music and Shazam, lets you manage your artist image, and gives you tools to promote releases. Claiming your page is a one-time job that pays off on every release after it.
Step 1: Sign in with an Apple ID
Go to Apple Music for Artists and sign in with an Apple ID, or create one if you do not have one. Use a professional email connected to your music work. Apple Music for Artists is also available as a mobile app, and the same claim process works there.
Step 2: Request artist access
Choose Request Artist Access, then find your artist page. You can search by artist name, or paste your Apple Music or iTunes Store artist page link. To find that link, open Apple Music or the iTunes Store, find your artist page or a release, open the More menu, and choose Share, then Copy Link. Paste it into the Find an Artist field in your application.
Step 3: Confirm you are the right artist
Select one of your albums to confirm you are claiming the correct page. Only the primary artist on a release can claim the profile; featured artists cannot claim it. Then choose your role, such as Artist, Manager, or Label Rep, and complete the remaining fields. Connecting your social media or distributor accounts helps Apple verify your relationship to the artist. Your claim will show as Pending while it is reviewed, and Apple sends updates by email. Review usually takes a few business days, though it can take longer at busy times.
What you can do once approved
- Performance data: see streams, purchases, and audience trends across Apple Music and Shazam.
- Artist image: update your artist photo so your page always looks current.
- Lyrics: make sure your lyrics are present so fans can follow along.
- Promotional assets: create custom artwork and links for your releases.
- Set List playlists: publish set lists from your live shows.
Once you are in, review any further access requests from your team yourself. Artists and managers with Admin access are responsible for approving who else can work on the page.
Check your Shazam data too, since Apple Music for Artists includes it. A spike in Shazam tags tells you your song was heard somewhere, on radio, in a shop, or in a video, and people wanted to identify it. That is a lead worth following with promotion in the place where the tags came from.
